Three more sleeps until election day.

With three sleeps left until election day, it’s the perfect moment to take a breath and say a massive thank you to everyone who has backed, bolstered, and fueled me as I ask for another 4-year mandate to represent Ward 3 on the Louis Riel School Division Board of Trustees. Hearing your feedback has been deeply validating, and it is essential—in addition to being a sharp reminder of how much vital work remains to build on what we’re getting right.

A few sincere shout outs: First to Nik, my favourite son, and eternal (and self-appointed) "Campaign Manager".  Even before I officially registered, Nik volunteered to pound the pavement and deliver flyers—and provided content and design feedback on my brochure. From campaign #1 back when he was an LRSD student, to #3 when he was running his own campaign, to #5 today, his no-nonsense perspective and steady support remain priceless.

Second: sure, having my Mom and Dad move into Ward 3 conveniently adds two guaranteed votes to my tally (I hope!), but more importantly, their signatures were the very first on my nomination paper.  How cool is that?

Finally, in preparing to vote for the first time, my cousin Camryn peppered me with sharp, insightful questions all campaign long. Helping her navigate the process was a great exercise for me, and her thoughtful observations prove she’ll be prepared and voting from an informed perspective. I can’t wait for our post-election debrief!

Be well everyone, and, if you haven’t done so already, please vote.

“Research shows that voting habits are formed early in life. If young people don't vote now, there is good reason to believe that they will be less likely to become active voters later on.” - Mark Mayrand, former Chief Electoral Officer of Canada
